Brad Haddin and Steve O’Keefe have joined a growing list of New South Wales and Australia players to sign with the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. The SCG-based side has now locked in 13 players, seven of whom have played for Australia, and all but one of whom are current New South Wales players.”Brad is a quality player and someone who will play a big part in our squad as a senior player,” Stuart Clark, the general manager of the Sixers, said. “He brings a competitive edge and a winner’s outlook to our group of players, as well as dangerous hitting ability at the top of the order. I think he is a great fit for the Sixers.”Haddin’s signing came a day after the Sixers also secured the services of Shane Watson, but both men are likely to be busy with international commitments for much of the BBL campaign. However, Haddin said he was keen to be part of a successful Sixers outfit whenever Australia’s schedule allowed.”I have known Stuart a long time and I think that he has assembled a very talented squad,” Haddin said. “I look forward to being part of that group of players and helping to develop a winning culture. With the freshness of the competition and the high level of interest I think it will generate, I can’t wait to be part of what I think will be a strong team.”O’Keefe played for Kochi Tuskers Kerala during the Indian Premier League, and spent time learning from the Sri Lankan spin maestro Muttiah Muralitharan.”I think the BBL is a great concept and becoming part of the Sydney Sixers is a real honour,” O’Keefe said. “You only have to look at the list of names that have been recruited, to understand that the squad has a stack of quality, and great depth.”Playing cricket for the Sixers at the Sydney Cricket Ground, was a real drawcard, and I can’t wait to join a highly talented group of players. Watson said the lack of international stars available during December and January had made it difficult to find an overseas player, but the Sixers could still succeed with a heavily Sydney-based roster.”The hardest thing for getting imports is finding the right person who’s not playing international cricket around that period,” Watson said on on Tuesday. “It’s been a little bit of a headache for Stuart Clark and the team to get the right overseas players but in the end we’re lucky in Australia and at the Sydney Sixers to have the strength and quality of the Australian players we do have. We don’t necessarily need a big star overseas signing.”Of the 13 Sixers players so far confirmed, Watson, Haddin, O’Keefe, Steven Smith, Brett Lee, Mitchell Starc, Moises Henriques and Josh Hazlewood have all played for Australia. The only non-New South Wales man in their group is the opener Ed Cowan, who played for the Blues before moving to Tasmania two years ago.

O torcedor do Palmeiras prendeu a respiração aos 19 minutos do primeiro tempo, quando Felipe Melo acertou Neto Moura com um carrinho violento. O camisa 30 recebeu um cartão amarelo que poderia ter sido de outra cor se o árbitro Dewson Freitas fosse um pouco mais rígido.

Àquela altura, o Sport ameaçava pouco e o Verdão alternava lances de boa movimentação de seus homens de frente com jogadas de pouca efetividade sem um centroavante fixo. Com Borja na seleção colombiana, Willian poupado e Deyverson no banco, quem jogou adiantado foi o meia Guerra. A impressão era de que uma jogada bem trabalhada pelo time da casa bastaria para o placar ser aberto.

Keno acerta o pé
O Palmeiras fez 1 a 0 aos 32 minutos, quando Keno soube preencher o espaço deixado pela movimentação de Guerra e concluiu para a rede um passe de Diogo Barbosa após boa trama que também envolveu Lucas Lima e Dudu pelo lado esquerdo.

Segundo tempo eletrizante
Dudu havia acabado de tomar a decisão errada em um contra-ataque quando Anselmo aproveitou uma pane generalizada da defesa palmeirense para empatar o jogo após uma cobrança de escanteio, logo aos cinco minutos da etapa final. A torcida, que aplaudira a equipe no intervalo, passou a se irritar a cada erro.

Roger trocou Guerra por Papagaio, um centroavante de ofício, aos 18 minutos. Lucas Lima também saiu, vaiado, para a entrada de Hyoran.

O time tentava se estabelecer no ataque quando Anselmo recebeu de Marlone, passou entre Keno e Bruno Henrique e fez o segundo do Sport em um chute cruzado, aos 27.

Apesar do clima de tensão, a torcida só apoiou a partir daí. O Palmeiras respondeu com um lindo gol de Hyoran, que acertou o ângulo de Magrão aos 36 minutos e parecia amenizar a decepção. Mas Rafael Marques apareceu aos 41 para aproveitar uma saída em falso de Jailson após escanteio e completar de cabeça: 3 a 2.

A pressão palmeirense nos acréscimos foi alucinante. Dudu perdeu uma chance na pequena área pouco antes de ser derrubado por Raul Prata. O árbitro marcou pênalti e expulsou o defensor, mas quem riu por último foi a torcida do Leão. Magrão agarrou a cobrança de Keno e garantiu uma vitória espetacular longe do Recife.

E não faltou paciência para Jean ganhar as chances que vem tendo. Enquanto Rodrigo Lindoso está sendo questionado, o jogador emprestado pelo Corinthians parece ter se consolidado como titular e acirrado a disputa no meio-campo botafoguense, ainda oscilante e em processo de afirmação.

– Estou muito feliz, em paz, aqui há um tranquilidade para trabalhar, você sabe que as coisas vão fluir naturalmente. Ainda tenho 23 anos e sei que alguns jogadores aqui dentro vão agregar na minha carreira, assim como o Valentim mesmo. Acho que já cresci bastante, tanto como pessoa, quanto como jogador. Eight months on from surgery and wondering whether or not his career might be over, Ryan Harris is ready to press his claims as a senior member of Australia’s Test bowling attack in Sri Lanka. Though he had been primarily concerned about the longevity of a battered knee, it was a fractured left ankle that ended Harris’ Ashes summer in the fourth Test at the MCG, following a nine-wicket haul at the WACA that demonstrated his value.Since returning to cricket via the IPL, 31-year-old Harris has been earmarked as a Test match bowler, and was not selected for the Twenty20 or limited-overs legs of the Sri Lanka tour. He has been able to prepare with longer spells in mind, an approach advocated for Australian fast bowlers in the Argus review.”I’ve bowled a fair bit in the nets over the last four to five weeks, probably 40 to 50 overs a week,” Harris said after Australia’s training session at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. “It’s been good to know I was in the mix for selection, so I could prepare for it.”Michael Clarke, Australia’s captain, has a bevy of bowlers he will want to play in the three-day tour match against a Sri Lankan board president’s XI from Thursday, and Harris is in need of some match practice to build up ideal rhythm for the first Test in Galle that begins on August 31.”Personally I haven’t played any longer forms of cricket since I broke my ankle, so if I play [the tour game], I just want to get out there and get a few longer spells under my belt.”I’ve played a lot of Twenty20 cricket in the last three or four months, so I’m just looking at it as a good opportunity to get out and get more fit, and hopefully do enough to secure a spot [in the Test XI]. But I’m not putting a lot of pressure on myself by saying it’s an audition.”The pain of the MCG injury was compounded by the doubts that followed it, as, not for the first time, Harris wondered if his journey from the fringes of the South Australian state team to Test cricket via Queensland had reached an abrupt end.”[It was] very frustrating, doing that in Melbourne and having surgery virtually the next day,” Harris said. “I spent the next few days laid up, thinking about whether or not I’d get back. The negative thoughts go straight to your mind, but I always thought deep down I’d get back. It just took a lot of hard work and patience.”At times, when I felt I was ready the physio just held me back and the bonus is where I am now, rather than rushing it and getting injured again. The first few outings definitely [you worry about an injury relapse]. I probably came in a week early for the IPL – I really wanted to get over there and use it as a launching pad. I went there with a bit of tenderness where the surgery was, not so much the break. I was told by the physios that it would just be a bit of stiffness and scar tissue. I got through that period and the pain went away.”Harris has also been pleasantly surprised about the strength of his problem knee, which has clearly benefited from the rest a broken ankle necessitated. “My knee is surprising me every day – it has not blown up the day after a big session and it’s not sore. How that’s working I’m not sure, but let’s hope it stays that way.”It had a good rest [because of the ankle injury], but I’d rather be resting in four or five years’ time when I’m retired – I don’t want to be missing too much more cricket.”

تعاقد ألونسو مع برشلونة في الميركاتو الصيفي الماضي لمدة عام وحيد مع إمكانية التمديد بموافقة الطرفين، بينما لم يقدم كيسيه الأداء المنتظر منه حتى الآن وهو ما فتح الباب أمام التكهنات لرحيل لاعب ميلان السابق مرة أخرى هذا الشتاء والعودة إلى إيطاليا ولكن عبر بوابة إنتر ميلان.

أداء ألونسو مع برشلونة، جعل المسئولين راضون تمامًا عن مستواه الفني وعلى رأسهم المدير الفني، تشافي، الذي منح الموافقة على تمديد عقد الإسباني لسنوات أخرى.

وأفادت صحيفة “سبورت” الكتالونية أن عملية تجديد عقد ألونسو قد تتأخر قليلًا ولكن في شهر فبراير قد نرى الإعلان الرسمي بالتمديد سواء عام أو عامين.

بينما تم تأجيل حسم مستقبل كيسيه إلى يونيو، لذلك سيستمر مع تشافي حتى نهاية الموسم في برشلونة، مع رغبة الإيفواري في البقاء مع عدم وجود عروض رسمية.

لم يلعب كيسيه سوى القليل من المباريات، هذا ما جعل برشلونة يحاول خروجه في صفقة تبادلية مع إنتر ميلان لضم، مارسيلو بروزوفيتش، لكن لم يكن هناك اتفاق مادي.

كذلك كان هناك اهتمام من تشيلسي من خلال وسطاء، لكن لم يقدموا أي عروض لذلك قرر النادي الكتالوني عدم الاستماع لأي اهتمامات أخرى.

وجه ضياء السيد المدرب العام الأسبق لمنتخب مصر نداءً إلى أشرف صبحي وزير الشباب والرياضة، بشأن مستحقاته المالية إزاء عمله في المنتخب الوطني. 

ورحل ضياء السيد مع جهاز البرتغالي كارلوس كيروش عن تدريب منتخب مصر، بعد الخروج من المرحلة النهائية لتصفيات إفريقيا المؤهلة لكأس العالم قطر 2022 على يد السنغال.

وقال ضياء عبر حسابه على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “تويتر”: “سمعت المتحدث باسم وزارة الشباب والرياضة يقول إن الوزارة طلبت من اتحاد الكرة تسديد مستحقات كلاتنبرج وكيروش”.

وكان اتحاد الكرة قد أعلن استقالة الإنجليزي مارك كلاتنبرج رئيس لجنة الحكام، منذ أيام قليلة.

وتابع: “يا سيادة الوزير أشرف صبحي أحب أفكر حضرتك بالجهاز المصري أنه لم يحصل على مستحقاته أيضًا”.

واختتم: “تحدثت مع حضرتك أكثر من مرة بدون استجابة منك، ومر عام كامل ولا جديد”.

Na partida que antecede a pausa do Brasileirão para a disputa da Copa do Mundo, o Flamengo não contará com Diego diante do Palmeiras, em São Paulo, nesta quarta-feira às 21h. O camisa 10 realizou um exame no CT, que constatou um edema na panturrilha direita. Assim, o meia desfalcará o Rubro-Negro.
