وكان الأهلي برئاسة محمود الخطيب، أعلن عن توجيه الشكر لـ ريكاردو سواريش، وإنهاء تعاقده بالتراضي طالع التفاصيل.

وقال مختار مختار في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر فضائية “المحور”: “هناك العديد من الأسباب التي أدت إلى تراجع نتائج الأهلي خلال الموسم الحالي، وعلى رأسها الإجهاد والإصابات التي عانى منها اللاعبين في أغلب فترات الموسم”.

وتابع: “الأهلي نادي كبير ويحتاج لمدرب على نفس مستوى النادي وتطلعات وطموح جماهيره”.

وأردف: “ريكاردو سواريش مدرب الفريق السابق تعرض للظلم في الأهلي، ولكنه لا يستحق قيادة الفريق مع احترامي له، نظرًا لضعف سيرته الذاتية وخبراته”.

وأضاف: “الأهلي يحتاج إلى مدرب صاحب خبرات كبيرة وسيرة ذاتية قوية من أجل قيادة الفريق في الموسم الجديد، الفريق في حاجة إلى تدعيمات بالموسم المقبل، وبالأخص في خط الدفاع والهجوم”.

واختتم: “ناشئين الأهلي حظهم سيء لأنهم شاركوا مع بعضهم في وقت واحد في غياب عناصر الخبرة بالفريق، وهو ما لم يساعدهم في إظهار إمكانياتهم الحقيقية”.

Dinesh Chandimal was the stand-out performer for SLC with a century, helped by Dammika Prasad with a steady fifty, and their stand helped SLC pass the visitors’ score before the lower order collapsed.The tourists added 14 to their overnight score before being bowled out. SLC began on an aggressive note, Tillakaratne Dilshan warming up for the Tests with an aggressive half-century, smashing eight fours and three sixes in his 68. There followed a wobble of sorts when they lost three wickets for 26 runs but they recovered thanks to the 127 put on for the sixth wicket by Chandimal and Prasad.Chandimal, who walked in in the third over, was the mainstay, facing 234 balls for his 109. The pair helped edge past the lead before the visitors struck. Daniel Vettori made the breakthrough when he trapped Prasad lbw for 73 before Iain O’Brien sent back Chandimal two overs later. The pair picked up two more wickets with the new ball as SLC ended on 324 for 9.With the match heading for a draw, the tourists can look forward to more batting practice tomorrow, the final day.

Wolverhampton Wanderers ended West Ham’s run of fantastic form this afternoon and also managed to keep a clean sheet at Molineux for the first time this season.

In those 29 touches, Broadhead only managed to make 11 passes with no crosses, key passes or even a shot at goal.

The 23-year-old also failed to complete any of the three dribbles he attempted, ultimately earning himself a rather uninspiring overall match rating of 6.3/10, making him one of Sunderland’s lowest-rated players on the day according to SofaScore.

Despite playing out of his normal centre-forward position against Ipswich where he played in the left-midfield position, it could be in Sunderland’s best interest if Johnson takes him out of the starting XI for the match against Shrewsbury and potentially bring him on as a second-half substitute if they need another attacking option on the pitch depending on what the scoreline is.

Since joining the Wearside club on a loan deal from Premier League side Everton back in August, the Englishman, who has been described as a “unique” player by Johnson, has started just two of the nine league appearances he’s made and has failed to score a goal or provide an assist in the league but has managed to score once for the club in their 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic in the Carabao Cup back in September.

Taking into account his rather unimpressive performance against Ipswich and his lack of goal contributions in the league so far this season, it could cost Sunderland dearly if they start Broadhead and he isn’t able to secure them a win given how the team are five points off the top of the league table.
